The Passing Lane is a FREE application which operates inside Civil 3D 2008. It creates an alignment for a passing lane relative to an existing reference alignment.
Passing Lane prompts the user to nominate:
Reference alignment
Diverging length and method
Lane length
Distance from the reference alignment to the existing edge of pavement
Lane width for the passing lane
Converging length
Side(s) of the road where the passing lane is required
Passing Lane then creates an alignment matching those parameters.
